Let me introduce myself. I am Jim Bradley, a 59 year old married man living in Akron, New York and the father of eight wonderful children. My wife Diane and I have done a fabulous job of raising our children and we are proud of each of them. I have worked in the Heating and Air conditioning field as a technician, sales professional, business owner and system designer since 1970. Diane was a stay-at-home Mom till the youngest was in school full time. She then went to work at the school in the cafeteria and has helped many young children get a handle on how to do things like count money.
I began Networking in 1985 and had some success but not what I was looking to achieve. More recently I have found resources to develop a solid networking business and want to make them available to those who are serious about being successful in networking.
I have had the opportunity to see the many practices that I initially learned are not all the best way to develop a strong, long lasting business because methods of communication have changed and human nature has just become more real to me. I didn't even know about the internet in '85. I didn't really know about human nature either. Boy, was I naive.
I was told to make a list, call those on the list and ask each to take a look at this great opportunity but don't tell them what it is all about and they would get the information when we got together. I would set appointments, tell them they would meet this really successful guy who would explain everything all to have fewer show up than I expected. After all, I was about to give them the opportunity of their life. I thought they were my friends and would be there. Didn't they know that? Just goes to show that I wasn't real good at understanding what I was doing.
I didn't quit though. I always had a determination to keep going when others wouldn't. I know that losers aren't winners and winners aren't quitter's. I did build a small group that went to seminars and developed some volume of product flow. Even got some progress pins of achievement but that didn't pay the bills. I stayed active in spite of others dropping out and I continued to serve the customers I had. If I only knew then what I know now.
Today there are many tools that can be used and applied to our everyday work as networkers. The approach is different too. We can situate ourselves to have people coming to us asking about how to get what we have. Adwords, search engines, blogs, affiliates and websites all have an impact on how we conduct business today. I hope to be an aid to your building a successful networking business by avoiding many of the steps that fail and choose those that succeed.
Meet some of my friends here!
